Welcome To Bethel Methodist Church of the Hill Country
“Come now, and let us reason together, saith the LORD...” Isaiah 1:18 KJV
Welcome to the Bethel Methodist Church of the Hill Country, a local congregation of the Bethel Methodist Church, an Independent Methodist Denomination. Located in New Braunfels, Texas, between Smithson Valley High School and the Canyon Lake area, the primary purpose of our church is “to know and understand God”. This commits us to the fullest possible restoration, preservation and discovery of God’s truth, and to share what we learn with others as we have opportunity.
Our mission is to enlarge our knowledge and deepen our understanding of God through preaching, teaching, Bible studies and theological seminars. We also recognize the urgent need to equip our children and young people to overcome the dangerous environment they face both now and in the future. In addition, we have frequent fellowships and social activities for all ages.
We would value an opportunity to answer any questions you may have about our church. Our interest in you is not motivated by the desire to increase ourselves numerically or financially. Our motivation is to achieve a higher standard of Christian living and divine service by mutually deepening our understanding of God’s Word.
If you feel a need to deepen and enlarge your understanding of God’s Word, we would like you to consider Bethel Methodist Church. We may be what you’ve been looking for.
We appreciate your taking the time to read this information. God can be more real to you than you ever imagined. We invite you to experience the excitement, joy and peace which come from perceiving Christ as He really is. It will make a profound and lasting difference in your life and your relationship to God.

Online Sermon Archives
One of the essential goals of the Bethel Methodist Denomination is to spread God's Word, wherever and whenever the opportunity arises.
As Paul's reference to Timothy in I Thessalonians 3:2, we hope that these sermons will accomplish the spreading of the true gospel of Christ,"to strengthen and encourage you in your faith."
We pray these messages will aid in the comfort, knowledge and better understanding of Jesus Christ our Lord.

The Apostle's Creed
I believe in God the Father Almighty, maker of heaven and earth:
And in Jesus Christ His only Son, our Lord; who was conceived by the Holy Spirit, born of the Virgin Mary, suffered under Pontius Pilate, was crucified, dead and buried; the third day He rose from the dead; He ascended into heaven, and is sitting on the right hand of God, the Father Almighty; from there He shall come to judge the living and the dead.
I believe in the Holy Spirit, the one universal church, the communion of saints, the forgiveness of sins, the resurrection of the body, and the life everlasting. Amen.

About The Pastor : Reverend Jerry Slye
In 1982, I was enjoying early success in the accounting department of a large company.
I was married, had two toddlers, a new house and a new car. Life was good! God shook my world when He made my call to full time ministry clear. Before I had time to allow the gravity of my calling to sink in I was the pastor of a small church in southeast Texas.
That church was patient as I pursued my formal pastoral and theological education. I have been a full time senior pastor without interruption since that calling in 1982.
My pastoral philosophy is simple. In the words of my pastor Dad, “feed the people and love the people”. God charges me with the responsibility to preach the Word without compromise. When you believe the Word you cannot help but love the people.
The people of the Bethel Methodist Church faithfully give and work to set me free to study and minister the Word in the pulpit, on the phone, in homes, in hospitals and anywhere I find an opportunity (Acts 6:1-4). At the Bethel Methodist Church of the Hill Country
the Word is alive and so are the hymns! Come join us!

About Our Youth Programs
Jeremiah 9:24 & 25
"Thus saith the Lord, let not the wise man glory in his wisdom, neither let the mighty man glory in his might, let not the rich man glory in his riches: But let him that glorieth glory in this, that he understandeth and knoweth me."
As youth leaders it is our sincere prayer and desire that our young people really know and understand God. In His word He reveals Himself to man and it is the teaching of His word that is our reason and 1st priority for meeting! In the process of coming to understand and know God the youth form a strong and common bond with one another. Youth meetings, camps, retreats and activities are a wonderful time of Christian fun and fellowship!
Please join us on Wednesday nights at 6:00 pm for youth and bible club. Youth is for Junior High and Senior High age groups and Bible Club is for elementary age groups.
